                   Coast Guard responding to Staten Island Ferry allision

NEW YORK-The Coast Guard is responding to a Staten Island ferry allison at the Saint George's Ferry Terminal in Staten Island, N.Y., at 7:10 p.m. tonight. Ten injuries have been reported after the ferry  Sen. John J. Marchi allided with the pier.

Four rescue boat crews from Coast Guard Station New York and several local and federal agencies are responding to the scene.

An investigation team from Coast Guard Sector New York is also responding.

The report came in to Coast Guard Sector New York from the New York Police Department shortly after the allision.

Preliminary reports state that the ferry John J. Marchi reportedly lost power and allided with the Saint George pier, however, the incident is currently under investigation.

There have been no reports of pollution as a result of the incident.

Drug and alchohol tests have been ordered for the crew of the Marchi.
