| Georgetown Coast Guard, state and local officials offer free safety inspections |

The Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will offer inspections at the following locations and times. - Saturday/ Little River, S.C., Blue Crab Festival Safe Boating Booth from 9:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m - Sunday/ Little River, S.C., Blue Crab Festival Safe Boating Booth from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m - May 19/ Various Horry and Georgetown Marinas, inspections given at boating ramps by Coast Guard Auxiliary throughout the day. The Coast Guard and local officials are teaming up to inform the public of the deadly risks involved with unsafe boating practices, and the importance of wearing a life jacket when participating in any water activity. Approximately 700 people in the Wearing a life jacket will greatly increase your chance of survival in case of emergency.
