**Update** Coast Guard monitoring oil spill in Tampa Bay

TAMPA, Fla. - Coast Guard personnel from Sector St. Petersburg, Fla., are continuing to monitor cleanup measures Thursday of approximately 1,000 gallons of waste oil spilled in the Port of Tampa after a vessel collision Wednesday around 11:30 a.m.

Crews from Diversified Environmental Services have removed approximately half of the spilled waste oil from the water surrounding the 210-foot barge Crystal River.

The tug, Katherine Ann, was pushing the barge Crystal River when it collided with the moored tug Liberty at the dock near 2500 Causeway Blvd., in Tampa. The collision caused approximately 1,000 gallons of waste oil to spill in to the water.

No injuries have been reported.

The Coast Guard is investigating the incident.
